MONDAY-TUESDAY @ MOMOFUKU NOODLE BAR

It's the year of the pig and we've hardly celebrated at all. That's all the excuse we need to head to this modern Asian noodle bar for some of our favorite pork dishes in NYC.

FOOD & BOOZE: MOMOFUKU NOODLE BAR (1st Ave. @ 10th St.)
Site/Menu + Map
Our Take: Momofuku is a modern Asian noodle bar that mixes in some French technique and always fresh ingredients to deliver one of our favorite meals in NYC. Arranged with bar seating and an open kitchen where the bartenders would be, you can watch as variations on Asian classics like ramen and kimchi sizzle in front of you on the other side of the bar. The menu changes with the seasons and tends to offer a lot of pork options. This place is fun. Good for friends or dates.

Recommendations: Everybody should try the pork buns, no matter what else you're ordering. They're an absolute must. If you don't eat pork, go for the chicken buns. The Momofuku ramen is great, and the kimchi is a good spicy option. The Hitachino Red
Rice Ale is our beer pick. And they also have a solid sake lineup.

Avoid the Wait: Weekend wait times can be over an hour. Avoid the wait by making this your Monday or Tuesday night dinner spot.

Details: Sunday through Thursday 12-4pm & 5:30-11pm; Friday & Saturday 12-4pm & 5:30-midnight. Entrees $9-16. Order of Berkshire pork buns $9 (2 to an order).
