ELEPHANTS IN MIDTOWN

We know, we said no more posts until the weekend. But elephants parading through midtown seemed worthy of an email.

ELEPHANTS IN MIDTOWN

Our Take: Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, at approximately 12:20 AM (give or take about 30 minutes), a parade of Ringling Brothers elephants will march out of the Queens Midtown Tunnel and walk down 34th Street to Madison Square Garden. And you are free to show up and watch.

Did you know? Elephants parading around Manhattan apparently goes way back. In 1884, PT Barnum paraded 21 elephants across the newly opened Brooklyn Bridge to prove its strength.

Tonight's parade is happening because the circus train can't unload in Manhattan, so they have to walk from Queens. But whatever the reason, we think it's kind of cool to see elephants roaming around Midtown.
